The Smokenator 1000
If you are fortunate enough to have a kettle-style charcoal grill, but unfortunate enough not to have a giant professional smoker, then you might want to try The Smokenator 1000. This handly gadget will instantly transform your kettle grill into a lean mean, smoking machine with no effort whatsoever. You can get Smokey Mountain flavor from a basic kettle and probably use less charcoal in the process. It's really quite ingenious. Just a curved piece of steel with two hole in the top along with a handy tray for water or other basting liquid. It fits right onto the side of any curved kettle-style grill, and it is wonderfully simple to use. Just light a small amount of coals in your grill, let them burn down, then use the Smokenator to pull them aside and into the Smokenator's smoking chamber. The coals are kept to one side leaving a large area for the meat rest. The two holes in the top allow the user to add more charcoal and smoking wood when necessary as well as release the smoke into the kettle. The center of the device houses a rectangular tray that can be filled with water or other liquid to maintain a moist BBQ environment. For my recipe, I used apple juice. It imparts such a nice flavor to pork.
I'll admit that I had my reservations about the Smokenator when I received it, but after seeing what it can do, I am sold on it. It's funny how such a simple curved piece of steel can help you do wonders with barbecue. Check out the The Smokenator 1000. on the web and pick up yours today.
