Mods to 1st Gen TEC Grill

When Char-Broil released the first generation TEC infrared grills earlier this year, I don't think they expected that the rotisserie issue to become such a big joke in the industry. See, when you use the charbroil rotisserie kit, the assembly blocks the side lids from opening. It was such a huge engineering oversight, people were shocked. And then they laughed.

But for Carl Farwell of Tennessee, it was no laughing matter. He liked the grill so much that he decided to take the matter into his own hands and modify the design to accommodate his needs. If that's not the American spirit, I don't know what is.

So check it out. He removed the tiny spot welds that hold the lid hinges on and fashioned them with sliders. The lids slide in and out, free of their rotisserie confines.

Very well done. Nice looking craftsmanship too.
