Silcone Spatulas All the RageWe are really excited here at Men in Aprons headquarters to announce the return of the poll. Since the big redesign last month, I've been moving the poll around into different spots, and it has finally settled on the main page in the right column. As the publisher of this site, I really enjoy getting input and thoughts from my readers, and what a better way to get the pulse of the internets than a good old-fashioned poll. Today ends the voting for the poll about your favorite spatula type. A few weeks ago I wrote a small, slightly tongue-in-cheek article about the rise of the spatula, which really went in conjunction with the poll. Just so you know, I really do think the spatula is the most useful tool in the kitchen. Strike that ... you, the cook, are the most useful tool (ha ha) in the kitchen, but the spatula comes a close second.
Now that the results of the poll are in, it is plain to see that many of you are really preferring to use silicone spatulas. Personally, I prefer the wooden spatulas over the silicone ones, but only by a slim margin. Strangely enough, one of my all time favorite spatulas is the hard plastic spatula that came with our Cuisinart Food Processor. The curved tip makes it easy to get liquids off of curved bowls, but the straight edge is perfect for hard-cornered bowls and casserole dishes. Even though the poll numbers are in, I would really like to hear from you on what your opinion is. Leave a comment and let us know. |
