Golden Honey Margarita

Unless you have a blender and some ice and a bunch of friends around, making frozen margaritas doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I've always left the frozen margaritas to those rita machines that make a nice slush. No matter how hard I try, I can never get my blender to make a slush that nice. So the next best thing is to make a margarita on the rocks. This is one of my favorite ways to do ritas; I love that nice foam that the shaker makes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Gold Tequila
  • 1/2 oz. Triple Sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 oz. Honey Simple Syrup (see process below)
  • 2 1/2 oz. Margarita Mix

Mix the simple syrup by mixing 4 parts honey to 1 part hot water in a pourable container.

Fill a shaker with ice, add the liquors, syrup, and margarita mix. Shake well and pour into a nice Margarita glass. Garnish with a line wheel.
