Review: Nando's Curry Cocounut Cooking Sauce

Nandos Curry Coconut SauceNando's markets its sauces to those of us who want to actually taste the flavor of the sauce rather than die from an overdose of capsaicin. But for the chileheads out there, the peri-peri does pack quite a punch, if given the time. Taking four or five bites of the chicken stiry fry will leave you with a slight tingle on the tongue. But by the time you are finished with the dish, your mouth will be humming.

These cooking sauces are really designed to get you, the home cook, a quick fix meal that tastes awesome. You may have to do a bit of prep work cutting up veggies and chicken, but the flavorful sauce is done for you by Nando's. Just pour, heat, and serve. This may be on the the best aspects of the cooking sauces, besides the heat-giving factor.

This Curry Coconut completely outshines the Apricot sauce I tried last year. It had a distinct twang of curry, a medium-sized punch with the peri-peri peppers, and an oh-so-mild flavor of coconut. It was hard to tell in my house if the curry was just overpowering or if the coconut flavor was too faint. TheWife and I concluded that there should definitely be more flavor of coconut. I think that it would be nice to add a couple of tablespoons of coconut milk or Coco Lopez.

That's a bit nit-picky, I know, but we are just that way. Overall, I am extremely impressed with all of Nando's Cooking Sauces. They taste good and are easy to use.

Actually, dear, I beleive I said that I would have liked the sauce to have actual pieces of coconut for its texture. Although, I do concur a little more coconut flavor wouldn't hurt . . .

I loves me some curried anything. Reminds me of JJ's chicken curry with peanuts. For me, it would have to include a generous application of Major Grey's Chutney.

good review. I'll try the sauce. I can always add coconut as a topping.
