Tired of the flare and pizazz of the unrealistic portrayal of cooking on television. Check out Real Meals TV. You can watch videos of real people cooking real food in their own kitchens. Upload your own if you wish.

Giada wins over Rachel Ray in the Marinara competition. Good thing, too. She's Italian.

Mmmmm .... sopapillas. Quite possible the best dessert ever made. It just reminds of those times eating dinner at Pancho's Mexican Buffet.

My favorite food photographress, and baker of delicious goodies (don't tell my wife), is pregnant! Congratulations, Ali.

Bacon strip bandages. Hmmm ... I think I may have to accidentally cut myself with the Henckels.

Responses to "Nuggets 2/9/07" ...

I love the bacon bandaids- A co-worker of mine told me awhile ago that a way to remove a splinter without tweezers is to take a small piece of bacon and put it over the splinter, holding it with a bandaid(could the bacon bandage be more perfect) for a day and the splinter will come right out (something about the salt in the bacon...)But might you not attract wild animals in the meantime?

It is a sad day. I heard Pancho's has closed their doors. They had the best sopapillas ever!

Deborah, I'm not sure I could do that. I might eat the bacon before I ever got it to my splinter wound. :)
