5 Things About Me
Greetings out there in internet land! I know a lot of you are reading this via your feed aggregator or your feedblitz email notification. Most of the time I try to keep this web site strictly on topic about food, cooking, knowledge, and kitchen devices. But I just wanted to take this opportunity to say hello and introduce myself.
My name is Adam, and I am the publisher of this site. You can read more about this site and myself on the handy-dandy about page. I was tagged by Kathy Maister of StartCooking.com for this internet Meme. Go check out Kathy's awesome site while you're at it. And now for 5 things about me:
1. I am an Eagle Scout. I earned it in 1993, and I will sing it to the end of the world. I consider it to be one of my greatest accomplishments in life and I always put it on my resume.
2. I love musicals and opera. Seriously, if people are singing on stage, I'm lovin' it. I also love musical movies and cartoons. Elmer Fudd singing "Kill the Wabbit" is classic.
3. I am a first generation Texan. Yes, it's true. As much as I ballyhoo my Texan-ness, both of my parents moved here from other states.
4. I played trumpet in the University of Texas Longhorn Band.
5. TheWife and I dated only 2 months before we got engaged at 21 years old. This year we will be celebraing our 10th anniversary.

Hi Adam, thanks for playing! The more we learn about you, the more interesting you get!
hi Adam. Nice to meet ya!!
Opera is one of my favorite things as well. And how cool you were in the Longhorn Band! Did y'all ever play Rice? Their band cracked me up, all that chaos on the field. And, hey! It doesn't matter when you got to Texas, what's important is that you arrived.
Yes, we played rice back in 1993. The Marching Owl Band (MOB) is a tribute to Beer on the field. And they spelled out BEER. It was cool.

Umm, I could be kinda tacky and say that your BOYS are your greatest achievement . . . but we're proud of your Eagle scout achievement, too. ;)
