Need Aprons? You Got It

Adam in an Apron

Men in Aprons has been in existence for almost two years now, but conceptually more than that. The ultimate irony is that in two years' time is that I have never had or featured any kind of apron on this site.

This irony was begrudged to me by Michelle "Shell" Davenport, the owner of NeedAprons.com. I had noticed Need Aprons' ad pop up on MIA before but never really gave it much thought until Michelle asked me if I'd like to try out one of her aprons. This is a decision I am not likely to ever regret. Before this scarlet beauty came to my house, my favorite apron is was long one from the Tabasco plant in Louisiana. It's always been my favorite because it's the only other one in my house that doesn't have flowers, lace, or Bob the Builder on it.

Until now.

Ever wanted to know what makes a network administrator tick? Head over to NeedAprons.com and find out. Michelle "Shell" Davenport is the owner/president of NeedAprons.com, an online company that sells, you guessed it! Aprons.

After 10 years of work as a Network Aministrator, Shell created her own new challenge. She left her old company in April of 2004 to work from home. At first she did mostly did odd and end jobs, web design, computer work etc and also sold a little on eBay. But in In January of 2006, she decided to look for another job as a Network Administrator. As luck would have it Shell met with the owner of an apron manufacturer for an interview, and found herself on the subject of eBay. The owner suggested she take a box of aprons to see how they sold on eBay. After testing the waters and learning how to best position the aprons, she moved from manufactured seconds to selling first quality.

Need and Apron?

That model is me. I'm making a batch of Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookies, and didn't think twice about wiping my hands on the red apron. Trust me, it can take it.

The aprons are manufactured of high quality fabrics made right here in the United States. The one I'm wearing in the pictures is a polyester/cotton blend, but you wouldn't know it from how sturdy it feels. The apron has a very canvas-like feel, which I appreciate as a man. No lace for me. The neck strap on this model is adjustable and the apron has front pockets down low. Great for holding thermometers, or note-taking devices.

Michelle's aprons come in a range of colors from red to navy blue and khaki. There are umpteen different sizes and styles, and you can even get them embroidered. For all your business needs, there is bulkaprons.com to buy in bulk. Great for the food service industry.

I have already put this apron through some paces in kitchen and out at the barbeque, and could see it lasting for decades.

Pick up an official Men in Aprons apron at Shell's site. It's a handsome navy blue apron with the MIA logo embroidered in white thread.

WAY too serious! smile and "feel the power of the apron!"

Sara

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Superman! Or rather, Super-cook! ;)

Donna

I agree with Sara, let's see those expensive teeth! And the apron looks great, very nice. And if these were the cookies I ate over the weekend, oh my gosh, these things just melted in your mouth, rather my mouth, and his mouth and "the wife's" moth and his little boys mouths.
