Dates With Grilled Ham and Cream Cheese

Filed Under: Recipes, Snacks & Appetizers
Tags:

- 1 Package whole pitted dates
- 2-3 slices of ham
- 3-4 ounces cream cheese

Slice the dates down one edge, and open them up, exposing the interior for the deliciousness which you will put inside them.

Fire up your grill and grill the slices of ham 2-3 minutes per side. Slice the ham into small pieces, large enough to fit inside the dates.

Assembly: open up the date, place one pice of grilled ham inside, with a small knife, smear a dollup of cream cheese inside. Finally, mash the edges of the dates together. Place all the dates in a grill safe platter or container and put inside the grill for a few minutes to heat them through. Don't let the cheese get all melty, though.

The best way to eat these is to pop a whole date into your mouth. It's a great blend of sweet and savory flavors all at the same time.

Hey - weren't we eating those at the Charbroil demo in NYC a couple of weeks ago? Them's good eats!

Hmmm..... Let me see if there is someplace I can buy a few dates and try this...

Looks great!! Is a keeper.

I'm thinkin some of these would be good for Thanksgiving hors d'oeuvres.

I recently had bacon wrapped dates with a piece of spicy chorizo in the middle. I love all of the possibilities - the sweet dates add such great flavor.
