After posting my list of Top Seven Cuts of Meat You Can't Screw Up On the Grill, I went back through the entire list of list submissions sent to Darren Rowse's ProBlogger.net. Lots of submissions about blogging, making money, search engine optimization, and nonsense. Looks like my entry is the one of only a few food-related post. Here is a small list of the posts that I think my readers might have some fun with.
Curt McAdams of Bucky McOinkums BBQ has created a new food-based blog carnival (he's addicted). It's called the Carnival of Food Photography. Make some food or eat out. Take some pictures with your camera. Submit it on your blog or photoblog. Heck, you could probably just submit your Flickr feed. The first edition will feature pictures of grill marks.
Labor Day is coming up, and you might want to do some grilling with your family. The next edition of Carnival of the Grill is due the day after labor day. So if you plan on grilling, take some pics and post your results, and the recipe on your blog, then submit it to the blog carnival page.
Obese Chefs?
Jaime Oliver decides to teach us all a lesson about the dangers of junk food by dressing up like Fat Bastard. Good grief! I don't know why this type of thing is constantly bashed into our heads. I don't know who in the world would actually say, "Oooo, being obese is a healthy way to live. Eating Chicken McNuggets 5 times a week is just fine." I wish Jaime had just led by example and continued to cook good food and stay fit himself. Now, he's just another man if a fat suit.
Speak of Men in Fat Suits, I saw Emeril Lagasse on the Good Morning America this morning. Emeril .... well, he's not looking very good. Losing his hair, and my god has he gained weight. He was making his recipe for Brown Sugar BBQ Chicken. Big Whup in my opinion, but the bigger story was how he looked. All the pictures on the Web don't seem to really illustrate what I was looking at, except maybe this one.
Responses to "Nuggets 8/18/06" ...
Yeah, Emeril hasn't been looking so hot lately. Actually, while watching Feasing on Asphalt, there have been some shots of Alton Brown which weren't hte most flattering. Hey...Everyone gets a bit thicker around the middle as they get older.
And, of course, "never trust a skinny chef."

Perhaps I'm being a bit sensitive, but lately things have been coming off a little...hyper critical of people with weight issues at MIA lately?
