What is Your Preferred Grilling Method?

Got an interesting email from a reader regarding the previous week's poll about gender equality in the kitchen. The reader said that he didn't vote as the it might skew the poll results since he was in a same-sex household. It would appear that through no conscious effort, I made the poll biased against gay and lesbian home chefs. I'm not really sure if it was truly biased .... it had to do with men and women. But it also addressed who cooks in your household. So if I wanted to make it completely unbiased, I would have made the options "One or the other," "both," or "neither."

Incidentally, the reader said he and his partner both did the cooking and were equally talented. I'm glad to hear it, and I'm glad to see that my web site is reaching people from all slices of life, not just husbands/wives.

Sometimes these polls come out as a predictable slice of humanity. If you take a poll of a million people, the resutls of the grilling method poll would probably be reflected just the same.

The results of the grilling poll were split in three ways between gas, charcoal, and both. A long time ago, I wrote that I only use charcoal. I can't believe that I said that. These days, I use both. Both types of heating have advantages and disadvantages. If you can learn (and accept) both, then you can become master of your backyard domain.

This week's poll is all about pancakes. I don't know why, exactly. It just crossed my mind. Do you prefer making pancakes from scratch or with baking mixes like bisquick or those crazy pancake shaker things? Let us know and go vote!

P.S. - don't forget to participate in the Carnival of the Grill!
