If you haven't checked out the Food Blog Blog, please do. I've been having a lot of fun browsing through the archives of food blogs. There's some really great stuff out there that not many people know about. Also, if there were anyone in the world I'd like to be for a day, it's Tyler. I'd like to take his place and have Amanda cook delicious food for me.

Found a great foodie blog called Aroma Cookery. It's been around as about as long as Men in Aprons, maybe longer. It is by Julia, who lives in Singapore. Naturally, the dishes are very Asian influenced, but most of it looks and smells delicious. The idea is aroma therapy via food. How awesome!

Nice little article on Epicurious.com about drinks from the Big Easy, New Orleans. You know, we're coming up on the one-year anniversary of the Hurrican Katrina disaster, so it's a safe bet that the month of August could see quite a hop in cajun and down home southern dishes here on MIA. If you've ever been to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, then you probably know what a Hurricane is (the drink, that is).

Slashfood has a list of desserts that should never be eaten or made in the summer. Oh the controversy! Oh the mayhem! A controversial post that is bound to elicit responses, comments and trackbacks! The list was pretty lame, and not very well thought-out. First up is apple pie, for which the author gives the reason that apples are fall fruit. Well, I'm sorry. With modern technology, apple pie is year-round. I can agree with pumpkin pie. That's reserved for Thanksgiving. But sugar cookies, bread pudding, and chocolate? What the hell is she eating in the summer? Chicken?

Come on folks. Food doesn't have to be this pretentious. If I cooked my wife a souffle right now, she'd not complain that it wasn't appropriate for summer. Rather, she'd eat every bite and thank me later.

Don't forget to get your entries in for the Carnival of the Grill. It's about 3 weeks away. You have plenty of time to create. But don't procrastinate. And always be prepared. For some great grilling tips, see the category Grilling and Smoking. And check out my burger making guides 1 and 2.
