Are You a Food Blogger?

The latest Men in Aprons Poll is over. I had been wondering about the nature of my readership, and it turns out I have about a half food bloggers, half regular readers. This pleases me greatly. I think that one of the biggest challenges a food blogger faces when trying to create a successful site is how to grow your audience beyond other food bloggers. Food blogs are such a small niche compared to tech, political, and personal, that we need to find ways not only to grow our niche, but to reach out to the basic reader and to search engine searchers.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the amount of readers to food bloggers was a little under fifty percent. I guess that means I am reaching beyond food blogs. Thank you all who read this, by the way. I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for you. I was shocked that 12 percent of you said "what's a blog." Come on, people! Get with the times!

For this week's poll, TheWife suggested I poll everyone to find out who does the cooking in your household. This is a common subject on this site: men cooking. So let me know how it is in your home. Do the women cook or the men? Or perhaps you share the duties equally?

Good poll question -- Although there was no "Only the women" option, so I went with "mostly the women". Maybe someday when we get a nice grill I will force him to read your site and absorb some knowledge. :)
