Beer-B-Q Chicken

Beer Can ChickenIt's such a brilliant idea, yet its popularity is only been around for a few years now. Beer can chicken, also known as beer up the butt chicken, etc., has taken the grilling world by storm. Who would have thought to take the wonder that is the farm chicken with a can of beer. A brilliant person, that's who.

Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken
- 1 can regular beer
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 3 cloves garlic chopped
- Olive oil
- Your grill
- a can opener or kitchen shears

Trim the chicken as you would normally. Set it aside. Open the beer and drink half. No really, drink half the beer. Then take your can opener or kitchen shears and cut the top off the can. Add the onion and garlic to the beer.

Now comes the fun part. I'll try not to be to graphic. With the can standing up, lower the chicken down onto the can, fully inserting the can into the cavity. Was it good for you? Coat the chicken with a thin layer of olive oil.

You will need to find a way to prop up the chicken with beer can upright in your grill. There are products out there that will do this for you. Check out this cool Steven Raichlen model (aff) available on Åmazon.com. Now cook the chicken on your grill as you normally would.
