National BBQ Month Recap
Well folks, the time has come to bid farewell to the month of May, National BBQ Month. Now, if you know me then you know that BBQ is a twelve month thing. I never stop grilling or smoking or bbq-ing. I'll smoke a turkey on Thanksgiving or Christmas. I'll do it with a goat, I'll do it on a boat. I'll do it with some ham, I'll do it, Sam I am.
First of all, I'd like to thank the Propane Education and Research Council for sponsoring the Men in Aprons Show in the month of May. We were really bowled over by their willingness to try out this new medium and to embrace a not-so-giant-of-an-audience. So while you have a moment, please go over to The Men in Aprons Show. All through the month of may we focused on Grilling and BBQ. Our latest episode is all about Weiners .... the hot dog kind.
BBQ information.
On Memorial Day, I smoked my very first brisket ever. It turned out awesome. You can see the pics and my log of the 8-10 hour debacle right here. Speaking of brisket, you can get some great basic information about brisket by checking out my brisket basics post.
Recipes
There were some great recipes that I tried out this month Here's a list of a few:
Grilled Frontier Steak
Brisket
Smoked Pork Loin with Bacon
Sweet & Spicy BBQ Rub
Beer and Butter Injection
In mid-may, the discussions were hopping around Grilling vs. Baking. I think most people agreed with me, but there was some interesting opinions thrown around in the comments.
Well, if that's not a big old batch of cross-linking, then I'm a horse's patoot. Enjoy, everyone! I had a great time this month. It was exhausting, but fun. Stick around for more of the stuff you love from MIA. It may be the end of National BBQ Month, but the summer's just starting for me.
