National Meatout Day

Every year, some hopeless saps decide to throw their own one-day version of Lent and abstain from eating meat for an entire day. This is called Meatout, where you the objectionist takes time out of your day from eating meat to educate others about not eating meat. Strange ... it's starting to sound a little like a PETA front. But I think I might have to respect the PETA folks about a half a percent more, since they do it every day and not just once per year.
Unfortunately, I was not able to participate in the Meatout today. However, in honor of the occaision, I will be grilling some chicken tomorrow night. I will then take a few moments to bow my head in silence as I ponder how life would be without the tasty grilled breast of a barnyard fowl.
Look, I totally respect people's right to eat or not eat whatever they wish. That is one reason our country is great. However, don't PUSH your beliefs on me. And don't get all freaky about it, like lying down naked in protest over fur, or coating yourself in red paint to symbolize the blood.
You don't see me picketing broccoli farms, do you? Huh? You don't see me with a placquard that says "HEY HEY HO HO, BRUSSEL SPROUTS GOTTA GO!" No, you don't. Why? Because I like all food stuffs. I'm not predjudiced that way.
Except for liver. I will not eat liver.
