Recipe: Harvey Wallbanger

The story goes like this: In the 1960’s, a surfer named Harvey wiped out in a surfing competition, then drank too much vodka and Galliano at Pancho’s Bar in Manhattan Beach, California. So drunk, he banged his head against the wall until someone stopped him. If you know what a Harvey Wallbanger is, then you are a serious drinker, quite possibly an alcoholic. Either that or you have been around a while; perhaps you are from California. But when you get down to it, the Harvey Wallbanger is just a progression on the basic screwdriver recipe. FYI, Galliano is a licorice-flavored liqueur that is sold in a tall, phallic bottle.

Ingredients
- 2 oz. Vodka
- 4 oz. Orange juice
- 1 oz. Galliano liqueur
- Ice

In a glass full of ice, pour the vodka and orange juice in. Slowly drizzle the Galliano into the drink, using the back of a spoon to slow its descent.
