Preventing Cupped Burgers

Have you ever happily put down your hamburger patties over the holy fires only come back a minute later to find they have curled up into these horrible inverted cups? Well, you're not alone. I have talked to many people that have experienced this problem, and I have good news; there is a solution.

When you are making your patties, press down on the center of the patty to make it slightly thinner in the middle. When the burger cooks, the fat renders out and as the meat shrinks and pulls in, the burger will be flat and non-cupped.
