8" Omelette by Simply Calphalon
The electrochemical process of anodizing transforms aluminum into a nonreactive, scratch- and stick-resistant surface. You don't have to worry about metal utensils scraping this surface, as you would with a nonstick pan. (source: Real Simple)
Hard-anodized is, in my opinion, better than Teflon non-stick finish. The finish lasts longer than Teflon and it does seem to have a better non-stick quality. The Simply Calphon skillets that we have are built with steel handles bolted onto the skillet which makes them perfect for putting directly into the oven if you want to pan-braise or something like that. I have been using the omelette pan as much as possible lately. In all my years of cooking, I never realized how handy it is to own a small skillet. It's easy to work with and easy to clean. Lately, I've been scrambling eggs for my oldest son (3) when he doesn't want whatever the adults are having. The eggs come out of the skillet clean. For cleanup, I just rinse it with water, dry, and back into the cabinet it goes. You don't have to make omelettes in the omlette pan, but I think if you are buying a gadget specifically called an omelette pan, you probably have the intention of doing do. For my money, it just doesn't get better than Simply Calphalon's 8" Omelette pan. The Calphalon home page is selling it for $25.00 and Amazon has it for a cent less. This is a great price for a high-quality piece of cookware. |
