Manly Rewards

Tom asks: When are these contests going to start involving tangible rewards?

What? The thought of your superior knowledge isn't reward enough? :)

I was wondering when someone was going to ask that. The short answer is ... when I get some shit to give. The long answer is that this site doesn't currently make any money or earn anything in which to give out. Sure I could probably design a MIA logo and plaster it on a bunch of shirts and panties to sell on cafe press, but I really don't have the energy to do that just yet. Besides, everything on that site is so overpriced ... I'm not sure who buys it. 16 dollars for a t-shirt? Hell no.

Now don't get discouraged. Since my resurgence in blogging Men In Aprons, all kinds of ideas are mulling around in my head. The first and foremost idea is a podcast. I really want to reach a lot more people with the idea of Men in Aprons, and with the computer setup I already have plus my hosting package, I think it is possible.

The podcast idea has been burning a hole in my brain for the last 4 weeks now. I've been doing research on the medium every day, and I've been making plans as well. I've already got some of the pilot podcast ready to go, it's just that I need a real microphone. Something that doesn't pick up every creak, crack, and background noise in the room. That's on my to-purchase list for this weekend.

So be looking for the pilot podcast, I would say, within the next 2 weeks.

Men in Aprons has been steadily making money through certain means, money wihch has a purpose when it comes in. My first goal is to pay back my father for the site hosting for the coming year. The next goal is probably to buy some better RAM for my Computer.

I really would love to do some sort of merchandising for Men in Aprons, but the problem is I'm not a good designer when comes to branding, and I can't afford to pay anyone to design anything for me. So .... slowly it goes.

I will say that I'm very happy with the way things are going with Men in Aprons. I'm really excited about the podcast. So excited that I obesess over it every day.. I'm very energized and have a lot of content brewing in the old cabeza.

I will also say that I am very grateful to those of you who read this site and who participate in the "What in the Heck?" and other commenting. I do want to reward the faithful, and I promise to do so when I have the means.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more manliness. Great story coming up tomorrow.
