Sangria Tejas

I like to make Sangria whenever I have a bunch of people around. It's easy to make, tastes good, and the ladies like it a lot, which means it usually goes fast. Personally, I like it because the liquor and the juice make the drink a little less wine-ey in flavor. This is best made in a giant pitcher or punch bowl and chilled for a few hours. You should probably make it the night before your party.

Ingredients:

  • 2 regular-sized bottles of fruity red wine.
  • 1 cup Tequila
  • 1/2 cup Triple Sec or other orange-flavored liqueur
  • 1/2 cup Brandy or Cognac
  • 1 cup lime juice
  • 1 1/2 cups Orange juice
  • 1 1/2 cups Sprite or limon/lime soda

Mix all ingredients except Sprite in a large pitcher (or combination of pitchers) or a punch bowl. Chill in fridge for a few hours. Add Sprite just before serving. Can be served straight up or on the rocks.

Variations
You can add the option of cutting up a bunch of fruit and adding it to the pot. Apples, oranges, limes, pineapple, and cherries all go well with this drink. Add the fruit before the mixture goes into the fridge. The longer you let it chill, the more time the fruit has to soak up all that wonderful liquor.
