Did You Miss Us?

Category: Or did you even realize we were gone? In what has to be the world record of host/domain switches in the history of the world, Men in Aprons has switched domain registrars and web hosts, in a near seamless transition in which the site was down less than 12 hours. For you, the loyal reader, this was not such a big deal. The site was down, and now it's back. For us here at Men in Aprons headquarters, it has been almost a week of pure frustration, nasty emails sent, lousy tech support, good old-fashioned waiting, and a general sense of dread that permeated HQ, infecting all that it touched. The really terrible part of this is that I had just purchased another year of hosting and domain registration from my old company before I had to do it all over again this week. TheWife and I discussed everything and decided that the way things are going for Men in Aprons, this is a business decision for the site and that I should not accept crappy service for a venture that I am trying to push forward with. I have shifted Men in Aprons domain and hosting to GoDaddy. They are the freakin' bomb. Not only are the prices competitive, they have ACTUAL customer service. Real people that talk realy language and are nice to you. Not some pimple-faced jerkoff who couldn't put a sentence together if it wasn't in C++. I have also registered meninaprons.info, and meninaprons.us, which both point to meninaprons.net. In closing, we are proud to continue to provide you with quality content and entertainment, as well as some of the most delicious food this side of the Misssissippi River. We look forward to growing with you, the loyal reader, and we hope the our relationship with our new host is a good one. Stay tuned later today for another installment of What in the Heck? Sincerely, Adam C. Byrd, Publisher, Men in Aprons Trackback URL: http://www.meninaprons.net/mt/mt-tb.cgi/189 |
