Carnival of the Grill Banner

Let's get ready to grill. The time has come, procrastinators, to get your grill on. This is the last weekend you'll have before the Carnival of the Grill is posted. Since most grilling and bbq is done on weekends, the deadline for entry is on Monday the 14th at Noon. The Carnival will be posted on Tuesday. So break out that grill this weekend, and whip up something nice. Take some pics and blog about it.

Food Network has a pretty cool page right now about grilling and barbeque. There are some videos, including a great one about how to buy a grill, plus plenty of tips and recipes.

In response to my article entitled Is Pleasure Behind Obesity, Curt of Bucky McOinkums BBQ has posted his counterpoint to mine and Dave's viewpoints of obesity. I am really happy to see that my thoughts have made an impact and I applaud Curt for taking his disagreement to his blog and posting in a civil and constructive manner. I've seen so much destructive negativity on the net, it's refreshing to see a person use his blog as a platform for his voice.

Geneve of Geneve's Kitchen is breaking away from traditional food blogging by starting her own video tutorials. She has created a cool video tutorial for her Grilled Tuna with Pesto entry for the Carnival of the Grill. I know it's early to be mentioning this, but I just had to give her some recognition for breaking out of the "post a recipe" mold that so many food bloggers get into. The tuna looked wonderful, and Geneve's easy on the eyes, too.

Special Shit All-Purposing SeasoningIf you haven't noticed, I have a link to Big Cock Ranch's web site where there is sold a trio of seasoning that I use almost daily in my house. The products are not a joke. They are real seasonings and they taste damn good. Dan Martin, of Big Cock Ranch, has been producing Special Shit for years now, and is about to take the product to the national level. The seasoning are awesome. They are versatile and very tasty. Problem is, not many businesses want to carry a product with such a name, mostly because they are big babies.

So if you have a few bucks laying around on your credit card, buy a bottle of Special Shit and get the word out. You have my world that you will not be disappointed.

I was lucky enough to pick up a free bottle of the Special Shit back when Adam was doing his Listener Cooking Tips contest and I can say without a doubt that it is a tasty seasoning.

We use it in my house on everything from fried chicken to deviled eggs to chili.

If you've got a couple of extra bucks, pick up a bottle of Special Shit or the other great flavors. I think they're called Aww Shit and Sweet and Salty Shit (or something like that). Anyway, stop reading this and get some!
