Of Polls and TrollsGreetings all apronnites! First off, I would like to thank all of my regular readers who keep coming back day and and day out for more good knowledge and entertainment. I would especially like to think those of you who comment or ping the site with trackbacks. This is a blogging community afterall, and the conversation stays alive with all of your comments. On that note, I have included a poll on the main page at the top center. The first edition is "Has Emeril Lagasse Lost his edge?" This is a test poll, but I wanted to place it to see if anyone sees the same thing as I do. With "Emeril Live" nearing or taping its tenth season, one has to wonder if it's just getting played out, and Emeril is becoming an icon of a bygone era. Let me know what you think by voting. Now, back to that issue of commenting. It would seem that Men in Aprons has its first troll. I'm so honored. I get plenty of spam, but my first troll is a monumental turning point in the success of this web site. It means that I must be doing something right. You know, I encourage people to comment on this site with any point of view you would like, provided that you identify yourself with a valid email. If you want to criticize me or disagree with me or point out flaws on my site, that is perfectly OK. Heck, Tom Oakes always lets me know when some of my code is screwed up, but I thank him for it. He identifies himself and he does it in a non-judgemental and constructive manner. If you want to say that you hate Giada and that she has a big head, that's fine. Just have some balls and include a valid email address. The troll situation is one which I won't tolerate, so I am enforcing comment moderation. While you're hanging around the web tonight, there's some cool stuff going on around some various sites that I write for. As always check out my hot sauce reviews on Hot Sauce Blog. That community has grown leaps and bounds and almost doesn't need hot sauce reviewers anymore. The latest issue of Very Good Things is out. It's the Man Edition. Also, head over to The Weekend Cookbook Challenge. The latest edition came out a few weeks ago. It's all about Cinco de Mayo and South of the Border Recipes. Trolls! I like to call them toads personally. :) But yeah, you are so very right -- that means you've made it up the popularity ladder and are troll-worthy! :) We should have a button or somethin.
