Everyday Italian: Every Day

As I ripped the wrapping paper off the present and saw the shiny green packaging and her winning smile, my mouth dried up and my breath was taken away to short gasps. I believe it's called swooning. My father had given me the gift that I never knew I wanted this year until it was in my hands and I was cradling it like a baby. My preciousssssss.....

In case you hadn't guessed by the picture up there, I am the proud owner of the first season of Everyday Italian on DVD. Oh, let's not mince words. It's a full DVD collection of Giada and her loveliness.

I can remember a day only a year and a half ago when Everyday Italian aired on the Food Network only once per week. Something like 4 o'clock on Fridays. Now, of course, it's syndicated and is on every weekday at 12:30 pm, plus more throughout the week. Giada is featured on so many of Food Network's promos, and she has another show called Behind the Bash.

So what happened? How did this virtually unknown in the celebrity chef community go from unknown to megastar nearly overnight? Hmmm. Look at this picture and you tell me.

I get more search engine hits to Men in Aprons via strings like Giada, Giada cleavage, Giada's cleavage shots, and the like. I will not deny that she is a beautiful woman with a knock 'em dead smile, but after watching a number of episodes of Everyday Italian, I will say that she does cook up some great food. Some of it is even on par for the simplicity-style of Men in Aprons. I've actually seen her open up jars or cans of food to make things easy to cook.

This really goes well with the Men in Aprons theme. I love to watch her show because, not only is she gorgeous, but her food looks excellent. It's always made from great ingredients and it looks pretty simple to make. The shows usually feature 3 dishes of various complexity, so if you don't think you can make one, there's always an easier one featured.

I'm seriously considering creating a new web site dedicated to Giada. The offical Giada de Laurentiis fan club or something like that.

Everyday Italian airs daily on the Food Network and you can buy DVD sets of the show on the Food Network Store. And P.S. -- Emeril has his own "store" at the Food Network Store. Isn't that nice?
