Welcome, all Men-nonites, to the first official weekly newsletter of Men in Aprons. Since the recent surge in traffic to the site, I felt I should start keeping readers up to date with everything going here at MIA headquarters. First and foremost, let me thank everyone for reading and participating in the conversations and quizzes that have been posted lately. I have been thrilled to have such great commenter on the posts here and look forward to reading more. After all, I like to think of MIA as an interactive experience ... a multi-line conversation, if you will. One of my mistakes earlier this year was trying to make this site one-sided and static. I kept trying to make it a "THIS IS HOW IT IS" kind of thing, but I realized a few months ago that if I was going to increase readership I needed to make the site participatory. So let's get down to business.

You can see by the stats that the site usage jumped in October. Some of that, I think, was due to a lot of comment spammers (those bastards). But the page views from September to October more than doubled. Good stuff.

I signed up with Feedburner to optimize my site feed. Until this past month I never put much stock in RSS Feeds. But since I started looking into podcasting, I realized it is something I cannot do without. Also, I downloaded a news aggregator and found it a totally awesome way to keep up with my favorite blogs, podcasts and news sites.

The new Men In Aprons Feed is now in the right menu column. Check it here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/MenInAprons

Later today, I will be unveiling the all new "What in the Heck?" kitchen quiz show game. Stay tuned and hone those brains. There's something wonderful in store for you.

----------
Last night, I finally got my Gizmo Project working which allows me to make and record phone calls via my computer. I plan on using it to call folks and do interviews to plan on the podcast. I also want to set it up for a voicemail line.

Now that gizmo is working, the podcast is a go. Will be recording soon.
---------

That's all for now. Stay tuned for more updates.
